Food breaks

How long are the intervals between your meals? Take a break of three, four or even five hours. Then your body can digest the food you have eaten and you get really hungry.

Eat slowly and mindfully

This should be at the very beginning. Eat mindfully and slowly. Remember what you ate for lunch and how it tasted?

Be pleasantly hungry

The opposite of taking breaks from eating and eating too much can also be ravenous hunger. It occurs when nothing is eaten for too long and then blood sugar drops. The problem then is eating indiscriminately without paying attention to what is being eaten and how. What meal break is good for you to be comfortably hungry?

When are you full?

We are not full when our plate is empty. Maybe we are before that and there is something left on the plate. We should not depend on that. Save it and eat it at the next meal.

Finish your meal?

When we have eaten, we should not go to the refrigerator after five minutes to see if there is another treat. A meal may well have a dessert. But then we should end the meal consciously, like with a “thank you” for example.

What feeds you?

It is not only favorite foods that we have. With some foods we have the impression that they satiate and nourish us better than others. And this is different for everyone. So, find out what nourishes you the most!

Can you make an exception?

Chocolate, chips or gummy bears. For whatever reason, sometimes they just have to be. If we enjoy them, they do us good. However, they should remain an exception and should not become a habit.
